Dr. Zwemer brings his enthusiasm for medicine and surgery to his role as an associate clinical professor of surgery at Michigan State University, college of osteopathic medicine, instructing medical students and residents since 2002. He was voted “Educator of the Year” by the intern class of 2006 – 2007 and 2017 – 2018.
He continues to be a member of numerous committees at the hospital and has held numerous appointed positions including chief of surgery, chief of staff, and is currently on the Board of Directors at Trinity Hospital.
He’s also a board member of the Muskegon County Medical Society, serving as president in 2008. He is a lifelong resident of Michigan, born and raised on the east side, but relocated to West Michigan in 1998. He has a wonderful wife who is an educator in the Whitehall school district, and two grown children.
